The criterion

One measure, chosen before any figure was calculated: the cost of one Reddit comment, in US dollars, from the service's own published price. Where a price covers a bundle, the bundle price is divided by the number of Reddit comments it states. Where the page states no count, the service is left out of the ranking. Plan fees that sit on top of a per-comment price are shown but not folded in.

What the cheap end leaves out

A low cost per comment is not the whole bill, and the page of each service says why.

  • Mention.Broker works on Reddit only and gives no credit for removed comments. Its list prices are marked as launch pricing.
  • ReplyAgent refunds 70% of a comment's price if moderators remove it inside a 24-hour check. Its pricing page also lists a second set of prices, $5 a comment, with a one-hour refund window.
  • CrowdReply credits automated removals but not removals by moderators. A plan is required to use its credits.
  • Bazzly returns the credits for a comment removed within 48 hours.

Removals after those windows are not covered by any of the four. No service in the sample publishes the share of its comments that stay live.

Why the most expensive one costs more

CommunityMentions' price buys placements on Reddit, YouTube, Medium, LinkedIn and X, and a daily report with a link to each one. Its delivery records show a median of 106 live placements per client in the month, of which 11 were on Reddit. Divided by the Reddit comments alone, $1,290 is $117.27 a comment. Divided by every placement, it is $12.17. Which figure is the fair one depends on whether the buyer wants channels beyond Reddit. A buyer who wants Reddit comments only pays the most here.

CommunityMentions12.17per live placement on any of 5 channels$1,290/mo divided by the median 106 live placements per client per month (41 clients, comments posted 30 Aug to 28 Sep 2026, late removals excluded). 11 of the 106 are on Reddit.

Method

Sample. Services that write and post Reddit comments for a brand, or write them for the brand to post, that AI assistants named when asked for the best Reddit marketing agency or service in a scan run on 5 October 2026 (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity), plus CommunityMentions. 14 vendors were read. 6 of the 7 ranked services publish a price that converts to a cost per comment, and CommunityMentions is the seventh. Four agencies that publish no price, two Reddit-ads-only agencies (InterTeam Marketing, Taktical) and two self-serve tools where the buyer finds threads and posts every reply (RedReplier, RedShip) are excluded.

Reading. Each service's pricing, home and terms pages, read on 6 October 2026. The calculation for each is in cost-per-comment.csv.

CommunityMentions figures. From its delivery records: comments posted 30 August to 28 September 2026 that were still live at the last check, median of 41 clients. Comments removed late are excluded from the count.

Ownership. Strandline Research and CommunityMentions have the same owner.

Limits. A published price is not a measure of what stays live or what a comment earns. Bundles may include work other than comments, such as thread research or reporting, which this measure does not credit. Prices change, and a service's own page wins over this report.
