About Strandline Research

Strandline Research publishes data studies on how internet businesses get found: what search engines and AI assistants cite, how websites in a category are built, and how operators grow and sell their sites.

Each report starts from data we collect: crawls of public websites, search results, and answers from AI assistants. Every report states its sources, date range and sample size, and publishes the underlying data as CSV files.

What we cover

  • Which sources AI assistants cite, and how that changes from day to day
  • How websites in a category are built and what they publish
  • Search visibility by category and by type of site
  • Studies of public website portfolios
